Important: New DVLA Verification Process for Your Number Plate Order

To comply with updated DVLA regulations, there is now a new process for verifying the original documents for your number plate order. This ensures your plates are fully legal and compliant, and it’s designed to be safe, simple, and fast. We handle everything using tracked First Class delivery, so your documents are secure, and your plates are made without delay.

Our five simple steps:

Place your order as usual selecting your desired number plate options. You will then receive a confirmation email with clear instructions about the following documentation process.

  1. We send you a pre-paid Royal Mail 1st Class QR Code from our email: documents@rolaplates.com

  2. Place your two required documents into a secure, blank envelope.

  3. Visit any post office and show your QR code to Royal Mail Staff.

    • They will print and place the shipping label on your envelope and send your documents directly to us via tracked 1st class delivery.

  4. We receive your documents the next day.

    • Once your documents arrive, we verify them immediately.

  5. Your number plates are made without delay and your documents are returned securely in the same package via free 1st Class delivery.

Can I email my documents to you?

Good news- we can accept certain documents online!

We must see the original version of your documents. This means most documents will need to be posted out to us. The only documents we can accept via email are unedited PDFs of a bank statement, council tax bill or utility bill for proof of ID, and an eV948 (valid for 3 days) or a letter of authorisation from a fleet operator (including lease or hire company) for proof of ownership. All other documents must be posted out.

As stated on the Gov website, it is a legal requirement for us to see proof that you own the registration.

We need to see two original documents in physical form, one that shows each of the following:

     - Proof of your name and address

     - Proof that you're allowed to use the registration number

As soon as we have received these documents via post, the manufacturing process of your number plates will begin.
