When placing an order through our website you are responsible for ensuring that all information entered, including registration numbers, delivery addresses and contact details, is accurate.

Rola Plates manufactures number plates and our other products based on the information submitted by the customer at the time of ordering. We cannot be held responsible for errors made during the ordering process.

If you notice an error after placing an order, you should contact us immediately using our contact form through our website. While we will attempt to correct mistakes where possible, we cannot guarantee changes can be made if the order has already entered production or has been dispatched.

All plates and other products are manufactured to order.

Legal Requirements for Number Plates

As a registered number plate supplier, we are legally required to verify the identity of the purchaser and their entitlement to the registration number before manufacturing road-legal number plates.

By placing an order for road-legal number plates you agree to provide suitable documentation confirming both your identity and entitlement to the registration mark.

Acceptable identification documents may include:

• Utility bill, council tax bill or rates bill (dated within the last six months)
• Bank or building society statement (dated within the last six months)
• Driving licence or provisional driving licence
• National identity card

Proof of entitlement to the registration number may include:

• Vehicle registration certificate (V5C or V5CNI)
• New keeper supplement (V5C/2 or V5C/2NI)
• Certificate of entitlement (V750 or V750NI)
• Retention document (V778)
• Vehicle tax or SORN reminder (V11 or V11NI)
• Temporary registration certificate (V379 or V379NI)
• Number plate authorisation certificate (V948) issued by DVLA or DVSA
• Electronic number plate authorisation certificate (eV948)
• Letter of authorisation from a fleet operator quoting the document reference number
• Vehicle details from the DVLA View Vehicle Record service for vehicles in the V5C on demand scheme

Manufacture of road legal plates will only begin once all required documentation has been received and verified.

Manufacture and Plate Sizing

Where customers select the option for the "shortest possible" plate size, we will produce the number plate on the smallest available plate suitable for the registration provided.

The standard plate sizes available are:

• 18 inch
• 16 inch
• 13 inch

The exact spacing at the edge of the plate may vary depending on the characters within the registration number, particularly where characters such as "1" or "I" are present. If you would like confirmation of what gap will be present before ordering, please contact us prior to purchase.

Delivery and Shipping

We aim to dispatch orders promptly once documentation has been received and the plates have been manufactured.

Standard orders selecting free shipping are typically dispatched using Second Class services. Orders selecting express delivery are typically dispatched using First Class services.

Delivery times are not guaranteed and are dependent on the postal provider. Rola Plates cannot guarantee specific delivery dates.

We are not responsible for delays, losses or damage caused by postal or courier services once goods have been dispatched.

In the event that goods are lost or delayed in transit we will assist customers in raising a claim with the postal provider. Replacement or refund may be subject to completion of a postal investigation and any applicable insurance claim.

Where postal insurance claims are required, refunds or replacements may not be issued until the outcome of the investigation is determined.

We are also not responsible for documentation sent to us by customers that becomes lost in the postal system.

Damaged or Faulty Goods

All number plates are quality checked before dispatch to ensure they meet our production standards.

If your order arrives damaged or faulty, you must notify us by email at contact@rolaplates.com and provide photographic evidence of the issue.

Once the issue has been verified, we will arrange for replacement of the faulty or damaged goods.

We cannot process replacements or claims without photographic evidence of the issue.

Returns and Cancellations

As our number plates are custom manufactured and personalised to each order, they are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Orders cannot be cancelled or refunded once documents have been sent or production of your product has begun.

Returns are only accepted where goods are damaged, faulty or incorrect.

Where a return is required, the customer must send the item back to us and provide proof of postage. Once the faulty item has been received and inspected, a replacement will be issued.

As these products are bespoke items we do not offer refunds for change of mind or incorrect information entered by the customer during the ordering process.

Installation and Fitting

Our number plates are supplied without pre-drilled holes or adhesive backing.

For secure installation we recommend using strong double-sided adhesive pads designed for number plate fitting.

We do not recommend installing number plates using screws, particularly for 3D or 4D styles. Drilling or screwing into the plate may cause damage to the plate structure and appearance.

If screws are used to install the plates this will void any warranty provided with the product.

Rola Plates cannot accept liability for plates becoming detached from a vehicle following installation. As installation is performed by the customer or a third party, we cannot guarantee installation conditions or fitting methods.

Warranty

Our number plates include a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects such as reflective material peeling or issues with the applied lettering.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

• Incorrect installation
• The use of screws or drilling into the plate
• Accidental damage
• Tampering or modification
• Damage caused by third parties

Warranty claims will require photographic evidence before a replacement is issued.

Use of Number Plates

Customers are responsible for ensuring that number plates are displayed in accordance with UK law.

Registration marks must not be altered, rearranged or misrepresented. Characters must not be repositioned or grouped in a way that changes the appearance of the registration number.

Failure to display number plates correctly may result in penalties including fines, withdrawal of the registration mark or MOT failure.

Full requirements for number plate display are set out in The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001.

We are not liable for any fines or penalty points received in regards to any number plates supplied by us, we can only guarantee road legal authenticity up until the moment the number plate leaves our warehouse.

Road Legal and Off-Road Plates

Rola Plates manufactures both road-legal number plates and plates intended for off-road or show use.

Road-legal plates are designed in accordance with current UK regulations.

Off-road plates may be customised but are strictly intended for display or use on private land only. They must not be used on public roads.

Rola Plates accepts no responsibility for customers using off-road plates on public roads.

Record Keeping and Legal Compliance

Rola Plates keeps records of all number plate transactions in accordance with applicable regulations for registered number plate suppliers.

Where required by law, we may provide information relating to orders to relevant authorities.
